Frequently Asked Questions

Do you meet with my child?

I work with parents and empower you to activate recovery, so I don’t typically meet my clients’ kids. I do something called parent-led treatment based on SPACE and FBT, which are evidence-based parent-led treatments.

Do you work internationally?

Yes! As long as we can find a time that works, I work with clients all over the world. I’m based in California.

How do you meet with people?

Typically we meet via phone or Zoom. If you have another platform you prefer, such as Skype or WhatsApp, I’ll be happy to do that.

How do you get paid?

Most of my clients pay me using PayPal, Zelle, or Venmo.

Which eating disorders do you work with?

I have experience with and knowledge of all eating disorders, including binge eating disorder, bulimia, anorexia, orthorexia, ARFID, and OSFED.

What if my child is an adult?

Lots of my clients have adult children who have eating disorders. There are special challenges involved in these cases because the parent has less power and control over the situation. But parents can still make a significant impact on recovery, and I can help.

My child has co-occurring conditions. Can you work with that?

Yes. Most eating disorders have co-occurring conditions such as ADHD, OCD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-harm, substance abuse, and more. These conditions work in tandem together, and it’s important that we approach them consciously and intentionally.

My child is LGBTQ+. Can you work with that?

Yes. I have experience working with parents who have children who are LGBTQ+. Many times they experience special challenges in getting treatment, and I’m aware of those challenges and would like to help.

What if my child is not diagnosed/in treatment?

That’s completely fine. Your child doesn’t need a formal diagnosis or to be actively participating in treatment for you to make a positive impact on their eating disorder, disordered eating, relationship with food, and body image.
