Books For Parents Who Have Kids With Eating Disorders

As someone with lived experience who works daily to support parents who have eating disorders, I have a deep understanding of the mechanics of disordered eating and negative body image.

But I also know first-hand that eating disorders go far beyond food and weight; they are powerful behavioral patterns motivated and maintained by many factors. That’s why my library explores the complex biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to and maintain eating disorders.

Of course eating and weight are part of my reading library, but at the heart of my approach is relational safety. Change moves at the speed of trust. When parents increase relational trust, they motivate eating disorder recovery.

This concept informs and drives my parent coaching practice.
