Professional Collaboration With Eating Disorder Professionals

We’re Even Better Together

Eating disorder treatment works best when parents are resourced and supported. I’m a parent coach who empowers your clients’ parents and helps them navigate eating disorder treatment and recovery.

❤️ Confidence ❤️ Connection ❤️ Ease ❤️

Let’s Collaborate!

I collaborate with eating disorder professionals by coaching parents and helping them:

1. Understand what’s happening and what they can do about it. Parents want to be helpful, but it can be hard to understand why an eating disorder showed up, why it’s not going away, and what to do about it. When parents understand what’s happening, they’re more effective in helping their kids recover.

2. Follow through on your at-home treatment advice. Parents are essential to eating disorder treatment yet they need specialized skills and knowledge to succeed with the day-to-day requirements of recovery. I guide parents to support their children’s physical and emotional needs while holding firm boundaries and supercharging recovery.

3. Maintain the stamina to support recovery. Eating disorder treatment is intense for the whole family. As a fellow parent and a coach, I give parents compassion and empathy, reducing caregiver burnout and increasing their ability to hang in.

What parent coaching looks like

I coach parents who have a child, teen, or young adult in eating disorder treatment. Parents desperately want their children to recover, and everything gets easier when they have expert support and the skills to succeed.

I don’t treat the eating disorder, since that’s your job as a licensed eating disorder professional. I help parents understand what’s going on with their child, avoid accommodating the disorder, and build a more connected relationship while juggling everything else in their busy lives.

I have a singular focus: lasting eating disorder recovery built on secure family relationships.

My approach is built on the lived experience of eating disorder recovery, which led me to write about how parents can help kids with eating disorders. So far I’ve written more than 500 articles on the subject and built relationships with hundreds of eating disorder professionals who often share my work with their clients’ parents and refer me as a parent coach. I have professional training in FBTSPACE-ARFID, sDOR, and IFS, which was originally developed in the context of treating people with eating disorders.

I’m here to amplify and enhance your work; I’ll be an asset to your treatment plan.
